This WorkplaceNL approved 2 day program offers a combination of theory, practical exercises and demonstrations to examine the various methods of fall protection including fall arrest systems, inspections, maintenance and usage. Students will receive hands-on exposure to selected fall protection systems. The practical exercises will provide students with the opportunity to practice and demonstrate their skills and knowledge in this area.

By the end of the session, successful participants will:
1) Be aware of the requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for fall protection and responsibilities of workplace parties;
2) Understand fall hazards and the various components that make up a fall protection system;
3) Understand and demonstrate the requirements related to the use, care and inspection of various fall protection equipment;
4) Understand fall protection plans and emergency response.

This training requires recertification every 3 years.
